My New Hair!

I'm dedicating an entire blogpost on my HAIR.

If you follow me on Instagram (@makeupbysach) you would have known that it was my 18th birthday last week. As a birthday treat, my mum took me to Headmasters in Shepherds Bush to get my hair done and to be honest I was really surprised because she's never allowed me to get my hair dyed!

So this is a before shot of my hair, it looks absolutely lifeless and messy. I've never used hair masks and I rarely put coconut oil in my hair (oops) but now that it's coloured I have to take extra care of my hair. I literally don't even brush my hair unless I've washed it or need to straighten/curl it.

My stylist (Kamil) was fab, I showed him a ton of inspiration pictures from Instagram and he recommended a shade of brown to suit my skin tone. We went with a light brown shade.

I have a 'balayage' effect in my hair, which basically means that dye is painted free hand onto sections of hair. The great thing about balayage is that the top of your head is mostly your natural hair, so you won't need to worry about needing to get your roots done!
After the foils, he washed and cut my hair. I've always gone with a 'V' shaped hair cut cos I feel like it suits me best rather than a blunt cut.

He noticed that my hair was really flat so he thinned out my hair to make it 'lighter' so that I get more volume in my hair.

After pic (I love it)

Kamil also recommended me this product to use in my hair after I wash it and before I use heat tools. It's a leave in conditioner with heat protecting properties. I've noticed it really helps make my hair softer after blow drying or straightening. You can purchase it here. It was a little expensive, but you don't need to use a lot!

What hair care products do you guys like to use? Please let me know cos I'd really like to know!

Love, Sachini

xoxo
