Hey guys! Today I thought I'd show you how to create a glitter wing liner using Certifeye's 'Burgundy' glitter.
Of course you can use any coloured glitter you like but I wanted to use this one! :)
- a little word of warning, this look is a little tricky to achieve but practice makes perfect!
Step 1 - PRIME
Apply an eyeshadow base or a concealer to ensure you have a blank canvas and set it with a pressed or translucent powder or even an eye shadow that is close to your skin tone.
It's important to set the base with a powder so that the base itself doesn't crease on your lid and that any eye shadow you apply on top blends seamlessly.
I used LA Girl HD Pro Conceal 'Cool Tan' (£1.92) & Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder 'Transparent' (£3.99)
p.s. there's left over glue in my lashes from when I wore falsies the other night, it looks weird.
Step 2 - LINE
Wing your liner as you would normally do - if you need help with this, apply some tape on the edge of your eye and line it up to the tail of your eyebrow. This will give you a sharp edge and a perfect wing.
I did my wing free hand and used a makeup wipe to clean up underneath, to make the wing straight and sharp.
For this look, a thicker wing will give you more space to work with to apply the glitter!
I also applied some eyeshadow (brown tones in the crease)
- Jaclyn Hill Favourites Palette by Morphe Brushes (sorry I couldn't find a link for this)
Step 3 - GLITTER!
Dip a really thin brush into some sort of glitter mixing medium and wipe of the excess.
Examples of what you can use:
[What I used] Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer (£13)
I used the ZOEVA 315 Fine Liner brush (£5.95)
Run the brush through the glitter and tap off the excess, if there are lumps of glitter stuck onto the brush wipe the brush on the back of your hand until smooth.
Step 4 - LINE
Start by lining from the centre of your lid.
Take your time as you line the rest of your wing. I find that outlining it gives a better guideline.
Step 5 - FILL IN
If you want you can leave it like that but I chose to completely cover the black gel liner.
Wing looking fierce, I'm obsessed
Step 6 - MASCARA/FALSIES
Coat your lashes with as much mascara as you like or pop on your favourite false lashes.
I added a brown shadow to my lower lash line and tightlined my upper water line with Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner 'Black' (£7.99)
LIPS:
The Body Shop Lip Liner 'Burnished Pink' (sorry I couldn't find a link for this) & Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color 'Plum Rose' (£20)
Leave me any questions below and let me know if you decide to recreate this! :)
Love,
Sachini xoxo
